flashing lights

I went twilight sailing hoping it to be the highlight of my dull accounting day. Then I got sad because Boy took my job/everyone else let him take it. He said it was coz my sister came and they thought I was all busy talking to her, which I was, it was fun, and she enjoyed it which is more important to me.

I am sufficiently comfortable on the boat (it’s been over a year on and off now) that even when I was really upset I knew my position with them, and job on a busier day, was not in jeopardy, and that one twilight race has no bearing on any potential Hobart campaign selection – which is more or less the end goal. I think I just needed some sort of emotional release from my indoors days, and planned to get it trimming sails… but it was such a light day I probably would have been annoyed at everything trimming as well. They reached the official time limit and stopped the race when we were 2 boatlengths from the finish! Rather sad. They tried though, it was already a shortened short course and 2 hours should be plenty.

Boy was really sweet when I told him I was upset. He must have got a lot of sleep to be like that, it was just exactly what I needed to be happy again. Then the three of us went to Guzman Y Gomez for dinner and a frozen margarita; it was delicious. He is always quiet around my sister but we were all a little tipsy and happy so it was nice.
